Having recently celebrated the 20th birthday of their pioneering sun powered Solar Loo, it’s clear our colleagues at Garic have always led the market with environmentally friendly products.
Now the team are stepping up to do even more as they play a key role in helping the group achieve our Compass goal of being carbon neutral by 2040.
Mark Albiston, Garic CEO said: “We are passionate about our eco credentials and reducing emissions to create a better environment for ourselves, our clients and future generations. However, eco is not enough, we need to support our customers’ zero carbon journey and also lead our own.
“We’ve been producing products that are sustainable now for 20 years and probably have one of the biggest installed fleet of eco products. What we are doing now is looking at how we can make even more of a difference – every new product we bring out is significantly more sustainable than its predecessor.”
This has resulted in a pioneering range of new commercial products to help its customers reduce their carbon footprint including its Combi Cabin Eco 1.5 and ‘circular economy’ range, made of recycled materials, and is much better for environment and can make thousands of pounds of fuel savings for customers.
A few of Garic’s initiatives include:
Mark continues: “We appreciate that this route to carbon zero isn’t going to be an easy task, but everyone in the company is keen to achieve it and help their customers as much as possible, and honour our commitment to be an increasingly sustainable business, minimising our environmental impact and influencing positive change.”
Influencing positive change
Garic’s impressive green credentials have also caught the attention of leaders and decision makers as they recently showed Christian Wakeford MP for Bury South and Member of the Conservative Environment Network, around their Bury depot, discussing how they are reducing emissions on construction sites through green modular building and welfare units.
The MP met with workers, took part in practical kit demonstrations and was shown how the company works in partnership with local universities to develop skills.
Christian Wakeford said: “It was fantastic to visit the local rail site at Garic to learn more about the industry’s decarbonisation efforts. As a Conservative Environment Network Net Zero Champion, I look forward to working in partnership with the Government and businesses on future action and strategies to realise the net zero ambition together.”
Mark Albiston said: “The visit was a great opportunity for us to showcase Garic’s range of low carbon products and how we are supporting the rail industry on their decarbonisation journey.
