Bibby 7th Generation lend a hand to support the Group

Bibby Line Group // 23rd July 2020

Two members of the Bibby family 7th generation have been busy working with the Bibby Line Group head office team this summer to lend a much-appreciated hand, as well learn more about the business.

Katie and Alana Bibby have both been working remotely to support the business on key projects that include joining subsidiary reporting sessions, assessing how we return to the office, a digital communications audit and organising the company’s first ever digital shareholder event.

Katie Bibby (left) said: “I worked with the strategy and HR teams in head office for a couple of weeks. It was an amazing opportunity to get an insight into the businesses during the pandemic. Everyone was really helpful and I learnt a lot.”

Alana Bibby (right) said: “For my work experience with BLG I have been working on an external digital audit for the company as well as working with the Coming Back Stronger team to help return colleagues safely back to Walker House.

“I have really enjoyed my limited time in the company, I have learnt even more about the Group and it has been wonderful to be welcomed into such a lovely community of people.”

Jacqui Barker, BLG Group HR and Communications Director said “We are a family company; it’s part of what makes us special. It was brilliant to have Katie and Alana with us during the summer to support us with some key pieces of work.

“Adapting to remote working practices quickly, they showed real enthusiasm and were able to make a real impact in a relatively short period of time. I want to thank them on behalf of the team and wish them well as they return to their studies.”

Both have previously worked with the business before, and Katie took part in last year’s GSB midnight trek up Snowdon to raise money for charity.
