Congratulations to two Bibby Financial Services (BFS) business units who have recently marked eight years of serving customers in their markets.
Although separated by over 10,000km, each team share a similar story of success through meeting the needs of local customers.
As BFS Singapore celebrated the 8th year anniversary, so too did Judy Wang, Head of Operations & Client Management (pictures above), who was one of the pioneers joining the team just two months after its inception.
Judy said: “When the company was incorporated, it was not easy, as with the start of every new business. We dealt with our fair share of challenges, from finding the right people to hire and getting credit terms from reliable suppliers, to configuring and testing of our systems to suit the local market, all had to be resolved in the infancy of the business.
“However, two unforgettable moments were the launch of the company event at the British Embassy and the move into our new office in the central business district, which was graced by Sir Michael Bibby.“
“What is truly encouraging is that some of the first few clients are still with us today!” added Judy. Throughout the years of hard work and persistence we crossed our first 100 clients mark, reported our first profit and built a sustainable business”.
Alan Wong, Managing Director BFS Singapore added “Today not only do we have a sustainable business, we also have a good client portfolio and most importantly a team of talented and dedicated colleagues (pictured below).”
BFS Netherlands also celebrated eight years of serving Dutch customers, originally from the ‘Dutch desk’ which was set up in 2012 in Dusseldorf as part of the German business, following DAS’s business plan to act as an exclusive sales and marketing partner for BFS in the Netherlands.
The official establishment in the Netherlands of Bibby Financial Services took place in June 2015.
What is more, in 2018 BFS NL also on-boarded its very first Belgian client. “When the business moved from Germany to The Netherlands it had 100 clients and nine employees. Today we have 230 clients and 26 employees – that’s a great growth story and more is yet to come” said Rob Retel, Managing Director BFS Netherlands (pictured above).
