Bibby Marine wins innovation award for Zero C Project

Bibby Line Group // 21st October 2021

Congratulations to our colleagues at Bibby Marine, who won the Innovation Award at the Mersey Maritime Industry Awards 2021 in September.

Continued work and research on the WaveMaster Zero C project was the main reason behind the award win. The project aims to identify the best suited green fuel for the next generation of Service Operation Vessels and medium to large size ships.

Innovation Engineer Rob Osborne is leading the project and was elated to collect the award on stage on Friday, with colleagues from the commercial team:

“I was absolutely delighted to have won the Innovation Award at the Mersey Maritime Innovation Awards 2021. It reflects the great work that Bibby Marine are doing to tackle one of the greatest threats to humankind, the initiative to be a prime mover into green fuels, and our openness to collaborate with others within our industry and beyond.

“Thank you so much to everyone who voted for and celebrated with us on the night, this is only the start of our green ambition.”

The award comes shortly after Bibby Marine’s successful bid applications in response to the Department for Transport’s Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition (CMDC).

Bibby will be involved in two projects that will build on the work achieved in the Zero C study, and further develop the understanding of low and zero carbon systems for both new build and retrofit vessel technologies. Watch Bibby Marine’s latest video below for more information.
