Bibby Line Group DOUBLES colleague match funding limits as part of refreshed GSB programme

Bibby Line Group // 14th February 2022

  • Colleagues can now claim up to £2,000 a year, and up to £20 a month* to boost their own fundraising and donations
  • Just one element of enhanced GSB Programme, being delivered under Project Compass

Did you know, that as part of its Giving Something Back programme, Bibby Line Group matches the money you as a colleague fundraise or donate through your salary £ for £, up to a certain amount?

This means that your chosen charity receives extra money from BLG, on top of what you send.

As part of the group’s renewed commitment to making a positive impact within our communities as part of Project Compass, the company has now doubled these match funding limits.

So, if you are planning to raise money for charity this year, or you’d like to donate a regular amount through your salary each month, this means you can now:

  • Boost your fundraising by up to £2,000 a year to charity (capped at £1,000 per event)
  • Boost your monthly donation to charity through Payroll Giving by up to £20 per month*

The new allowances apply to fundraising that took place from 1st January 2022 and is available to all Bibby Line Group colleagues whether in Bibby Financial Services, Bibby Marine, Garic or BLG Head Office.

Jonathan Lewis, BLG Group MD said:

“Our colleagues are passionate about giving back to communities whether through active fund raising or through donations. As a responsible business, we’re glad to support this.

“We’re immensely proud of our GSB Programme and its impact so far. Under the Compass banner we want to do even more, so we are evolving GSB to allow us to make a greater impact.

“We’ve doubled the match funding limits, started to do more cross-group activity – which kicked off with Movember last year – and after the success of the fantastic Trekfest, we’ll be sharing plans for 2022 central events shortly.

“We also launched Donate a Day in 2021, which encourages all group colleagues to take paid leave to give time back to communities, and we’re doing more to support children in local schools and colleges.

“This refreshed activity all combines to help us to meet our new Compass Community vision of striving to improve the quality of life for all in the communities in which we work and live.”

How does GSB match funding work? – two examples

Fundraising: Samuel took part in a fun run and raised £1,500 for his chosen registered charity. After he sent the money to the charity and received a receipt back he went online to fill in the GSB MF application form. The GSB team reviewed the application and sent an extra £1,000 to his charity, meaning the charity received £2,500 in total. Samuel could then fundraise for another event later in the year and receive another £1,000 in match funding.

Payroll Giving*: Aurelie signed up to donate £15 per month to her chosen registered charity through her salary via the GSB GAYE online form. Each time Aurelie donates £15, BLG matches this so the charity instead receives £30. What’s more because the payment comes out of Aurelie’s pay packet before tax, her after tax pay (as a basic rate tax payer) will be reduced by only £12 each month.
