Bibby Distribution charity truck convoy a huge success

Bibby Line Group // 23rd July 2020

On 4th July 2020, Bibby Distribution joined another 250 hauliers to form an impressive truck convoy travelling across the M62, with the aim of raising money for the NHS.

After receiving the green light from Highways England and West Yorkshire Police, the convoy was organised to cover a 40-mile loop, with plenty of opportunities for supporters and truck spotters to observe at a safe distance along the route.

The event was organised by the Facebook trucking community Truck Mate UK, with Bibby Distribution driver Bob McFarlane one of the organising committee, and pivotal in arranging the attendance of the vehicle and trailer.

Bob said “Each year the group chooses a charity and we raise money for them. Obviously, we can’t do a Truck Show as we normally would, because of social distancing, so the next best plan we could think of was a convoy.”

One of only two operators whose vehicles were pulling trailers, Bibby Distribution were asked to debut and showcase the new Jo Cox Foundation trailer as part of the charity event.  This provided a huge talking point with its poignant message and local connection to the M62 area, where Jo was the serving MP. Bibby Distribution were delighted to support the event and helped raise over £5,000 for the NHS.
