Bibby Line Group // 28th February 2022
Our group’s new Donate A Day initiative, which has been introduced as part of Project Compass to support us all to donate time to the causes we care about. All colleagues across our group are encouraged to take a minimum of one fully paid day per year to help charities, community events or organisations.
Our Executive teams couldn’t wait to get out and start making a difference..
The BLG Executive team spent a day volunteering at The Whitechapel Centre a Liverpool housing charity that works with people who are sleeping rough, living in hostels or struggling to manage their accommodation. The team sorting helped with a variety of tasks including sorting through donations and creating care packages for their clients.

Colleagues from Bibby Marine, Bibby Financial Services and head office had volunteered just before Christmas, including spending a day sort through over 10 bags of donated clothes, as well as making up 49 Christmas care gift bags that contain essential items including toiletries, hats, gloves and scarves. The team also donated 150 Christmas selection boxes.
The Bibby Financial Services leadership team spent the day helping out at Let’s Play Project in Banbury – a fantastic charity specialising in the provision of play and leisure opportunities for disabled young people. The team decorated the kitchen and activities room, and helped to build Go Karts for After School sessions. They even got to have a go!
in March, Bibby Marine executive team Nigel Quinn, Sue Worden, Howard Hughes and Karen McGarry chose to Donate a Day to help The Hive Youth Zone on the Wirral. The team joined existing volunteers to prepare and distribute hampers to local families identified as needing additional support.
BLG has an established relationship with The Hive and is a corporate supporter. The Youth Zone provides young people with somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to. Qualified youth workers support young people across a range of issues, from mental health and healthy relationship workshops to help finding work and gaining experience.
Later in March, Bibby Marie Commercial and Contracts Manager, Kevin Brown also Donated A Day in Aberdeen for the Lunan Bay Communities Partnership, helping to plant 500 tress trees at Lunan Bay.
The Garic team are busy scheduling lots of volunteer activity for their executive team including working with Bury FC helping to refurbish the old Gig Lane stadium. Sales Director Mark Tydsley also spent some time volunteering for Bolton Street Kitchen, preparing meals and giving them out to people who are homeless.
