Bibby Line Group colleagues on top of the world!

Bibby Line Group  //  2nd November 2018

This October, 17 trekkers from across Bibby Line Group took part in a once-in-a-lifetime Indian adventure, which saw them visit breathtaking sites including the spiritual home of the Dalai Lama, the foothills of the Himalayas and the Taj Mahal.

The 67km challenge was part of BLG’s Giving Something Back Programme, where colleagues from around our Group raise money for charity, and in return BLG organises the challenge.

So far, colleagues have raised over £30,000 for their chosen charities as part of the trip.

Sir Michael Bibby, who also joined the adventure, said, “It was amazing that we had such a diverse group of people from all over the Group. Together we conquered the trek seeing some amazing sights along the way, while feeling we were on a real expedition when crossing fast-flowing rivers and descending deep gullies.

“My thanks not only go to my companions on the trip and those who contributed to my cause, but also to our guides and the GSB team who helped organise this memorable event”.

Audra Duncan, who was the GSB Group representative on the trip, said, “It was a really tough trek. At one point we had to form a human chain just to cross a river. But we worked together to get through it.

“Friendships have grown and developed with colleagues from across the Group. We even managed to add a new team member during the trek – a stray dog we named Stumpy – who I guess you can say became our mascot! It was an adventure of a lifetime.”

Randip Kaur who works for Bibby Financial Services said “It was physically and mentally challenging, pushing me way out of my comfort zone, but was a very rewarding experience with a great bunch of people from the Bibby ‘Family’.

Sophie Heptinstall, also from BFS added “I’ve had an amazing time with my new extended Bibby Family. I’ve seen some wonderful sights and some not so wonderful sounds and smells. Thank you Bibby for a great trek and for giving your employees this experience.”
