Bibby colleagues join forces to tackle ocean pollution

Bibby Line Group  //  25th June 2019

Colleagues and families from across the Group joined forces in late June to pick up plastic and waste from a North West beach to help protect the natural environment, as part of the Group’s award winning Giving Something Back Programme.

Around 20 volunteers from Bibby Marine Ltd, BLG head office and Bibby Distribution spent two hours cleaning Crosby beach – just north of Liverpool – at the event organised by Big Blue Ocean Cleanup, an international non-profit organisation committed to helping prevent ocean pollution.

Michaela Wright of Bibby Distribution said:

“The impact that waste and pollution is having on our oceans is everyone’s problem and we all need to do our bit, however small. I’d been thinking about doing something for a while and when the opportunity came along I jumped at the chance..”

Vicki Wyllie, BLG CSR Co-ordinator added:

“It’s been a really good day. Working together, we’ve collected sacks of plastic. Being a responsible company, it’s really important that we do everything we can to protect our environment, and this is just one of a range of events we have planned this year”.

Garic, our subsidiary that specializes in construction plant sale and hire are also members of the BBOC scheme, with future clean up events due to take place in 2019.
