Bibby Line Group / Garic // 3rd June 2025
Bibby Line Group – the family-owned international group comprising Bibby Financial Services, Bibby Marine and Garic today announced the appointment of Septima Maguire as Non-Executive Director (NEDs).
The group’s infrastructure business – Garic – also announced Brian Sherlock has joined their Board of Directors.
The appointments, effective May 19th 2025 for Brian and June 2nd for Septima, reinforce the Group’s governance and strategic capability as they accelerate its growth and investment agenda. A six-month transition period will allow a smooth handover for both roles.
Septima Maguire joins the Bibby Line Group Board
With more than 20 years’ senior-finance and transformation leadership across multiple sectors and geographies, Maguire is currently Chief Financial Officer at Benchmark Holdings, a global aquaculture-sustainability company. Her earlier roles at Dechra Pharmaceuticals and Ardagh Group equipped her with extensive experience in strategic finance, M&A, and operational optimisation.
Maguire commented: “I am joining the Bibby Line Group Board at an important and exciting time, as it explores new avenues for growth across its three core businesses and beyond. The Group’s values of responsible, long-term stewardship align perfectly with my own, and I look forward to contributing to its continued success.”
Maguire will eventually succeed David Anderson, who plans to steps down at the end of 2025 after more than a decade of distinguished service.
Brian Sherlock joins the Garic Board
A respected figure in the hire and infrastructure sectors, Sherlock is President of the Hire Association Europe and has held senior positions at Brandon Hire Station, Finning UK, and Hewden Stuart plc. He is widely recognised for his acquisition experience, digital transformation initiatives, advancing sustainability, championing Science Based Targets (SBTi) and developing award-winning ESG procurement strategies.
Sherlock commented: “Joining the Garic Board is a real privilege. The company’s leadership in sustainable site welfare has reshaped expectations across the industry, and I look forward to contributing to the next stage of its growth. This is a business with purpose, pace, and enormous potential.”
Sherlock takes up his new role following Peter Bibby’s decision to step back from the Garic Board at the end of the year.
Peter has served 11 years as a Non-Executive Director and been instrumental in Garic’s rise to market leadership in sustainable site-welfare solutions.
Jonathan Lewis, Bibby Line Group Chief Executive Officer said:
“These appointments signal our intent to pair ambitious growth with the highest standards of governance. Septima’s track record in strategic finance and Brian’s blend of commercial and sustainability leadership will bring fresh insight to our Boards.
“I also extend heartfelt thanks to David and Peter for their outstanding service. Their wisdom and commitment have been central to our progress and will continue to guide us through a smooth transition.”
