We are delighted to share that we have passed our target of 500 days donated to local communities by BLG colleagues this year.
Colleagues have donated their time to communities over the past 12 months as part of our Bibby Compass ‘Donate A Day’ initiative, including beach cleans and litter picks, food banks, schools outreach, and many over the last six weeks as part of ‘Operation Give Something Back’ – our annual campaign that supports colleagues to give their time back over the festive period.
BLG CEO Jonathan Lewis: “I’m delighted to see that once again our colleagues have generously donated their time to help make a positive impact within the communities in which we live and work.
“Whilst volunteering at Fareshare last week I saw first-hand the scale of what is needed to support local families. 500 days is an amazing achievement. I want us to do more, and I’m looking forward to building on this success with our BLG ‘Year of the Volunteer’ in 2024.
“Thank you to every single person that volunteered this year. The partnerships we have within our communities and the support our colleagues provide is a key part of Bibby being ‘A family business, known for creating a better future together.’
Our Donate A Day volunteer initiative is a trailblazer for the Community Point of Project Compass, our group-wide long-term sustainability programme, with the aim to drive innovation and continuous improvement in four priority areas: Environment, Communities, People and Customer.
